The team at NSVRC has been blown away by enthusiasm for this year's SAAM campaign. Sexual Assault Awareness Month participation this April was unprecedented. It was a month of activism and action for creating change on college campuses.
We are now entering my favorite time of year. I love the sun, the warmth, the flowers, and the long days. Growing up out west where it’s sunny even on cold days the majority of the year has made the east sometimes difficult to deal with. Being able to be outside in the sun is where I find solace. It makes dealing with the day’s events and the issues in the world, so much more bearable.
The idea of expanding Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services to address the needs of other types of violence, such as child abuse or intimate partner violence is a good one. But it requires that a program has a strong and sustainable foundation on which to build those services.
