Action, Engagement, Remembering: Services for Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse

Child sexual abuse is complex and can affect survivors in different ways in different areas over the years: trust, safety, power, physical health, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, and social relationships. This paper will consider the practices of rape crisis centers and coalitions as they act, engage, and remember with adult survivors of child sexual abuse with strategies in crisis intervention, counseling, holistic healing, and advocacy for adult survivors of child sexual abuse.

National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey Fact Sheet

The NISVS Fact Sheet provides a brief overview of the data from a national study conducted to assess the impact of sexual violence, stalking, and intimate partner violence. It discusses the scope of these forms of violence; immediate impacts of victimization; and the lifelong heath consequences experienced by victims of these forms of violence. This information may help to inform policies on prevention and response efforts in the field.

SEXUAL assault is a traumatic, devastating experience for victims or survivors regardless of whether they are male or female. It takes enormous courage to face what has happened and embark on a journey of healing. This article talks about male survivors and the many social pressures and patterns of male conditioning that make it difficult to acknowledge being abused, to speak out about it, and to seek appropriate help in overcoming the trauma.
