In the United States April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). During April people raise awareness about sexual violence and how to prevent it.
Since 2001, the NSVRC has provided resources to help individuals and organizations plan SAAM activities in their communities and play a role in prevention throughout the year.
Each year, the NSVRC chooses a campaign theme and supports SAAM organizers and participants with resources, tools and customized help. SAAM materials can be used to educate, plan activities and support local campaigns. You can contact organizations in your state or community to learn more about activities planned for SAAM. Teal is the official color of SAAM. The teal ribbon is the symbol of sexual violence prevention.

Yes, the NSVRC maintains a national calendar of events online. Events posted on the calendar include programs and conferences, meetings, and workshops. You can search events by category or state/territory. Share your April events by opening the Events Calendar and clicking on "SUBMIT A CALENDAR EVENT" at the bottom of the page.
Each year the NSVRC presents the Visionary Voice Awards. These awards recognize the creativity and hard work of individuals around the country. Awardees are outstanding advocates, community organizers, and do great work to end sexual violence. The NSVRC relies on each state, territory, and tribal coalition to select one outstanding individual for honor. Award nominees for each state and territory must be submitted by the coalition.
