EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university. Two to Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in training, communication, community mobilization, curriculum development, writing, research, and editing skills, as well as successful work with diverse populations. Work experience in sexual violence prevention and anti-oppression or related field strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in Spanish and English. Ability to write and edit technical assistance materials, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in Spanish and English. Ability to effectively present information to adult learners and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, centers, and the general public in Spanish and English.

Description: 

The Training Specialist is responsible for providing high quality training and technical assistance on sexual violence prevention and response. The Training Specialist is also responsible for leading the agency’s multilingual and multicultural access projects.

More Information: 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

Coordinate the multilingual access project, working with internal staff, translators, external reviewers, and advisory members to ensure that publications, web site, and other training and technical assistance resources are accessible and culturally relevant to Spanish speaking communities, by engaging community members as partners in the process.

Write, edit, and/or assist in the development of Spanish-language training and technical assistance resources, by engaging Spanish speaking communities.

Develop technical assistance resources and training curricula on sexual violence, using Web 2.0 and other online and web-based learning technology.

Provide and evaluate web-based and other trainings to anti-sexual violence advocates and allies on primary prevention, intervention, and other topics related to sexual violence.

Provide ongoing technical assistance to sexual violence programs, state coalitions, and other agencies and individuals on the full range of sexual violence intervention and prevention issues through the information line.

Assist in the development of information packets and web-based curricula by identifying priority topics, recommending and reviewing resource materials, and participating in planning.

Record requests for information and document responses in the NSVRC call center database.

Participate in teams and workgroups, including Integrated Training and Technical Assistance Team, multilingual access workgroup, diversity workgroup, translating research to practice, and others.

Research topics and identify materials to aid in responding to information requests; work with the NSVRC Librarian to identify resources and catalogue them for easy retrieval.

Assist with the development and implementation of other technical assistance and special projects and trainings as needed
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May be responsible for supervising students, interns and volunteers.
