Description:

(Leer la descripción de la posición en español)
July 19, 2010

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is requesting proposals from prospective consultants to conduct a national community needs assessment on Spanish-language access in sexual violence prevention and intervention organizations. As a critical component of NSVRC’s Multilingual Access Project (MAP), the Language Access Community Needs Assessment (LACNA) is conceived as a multi-layered, collaborative research project that will inform the NSVRC’s partnerships, resource-dissemination and creation, training, technical assistance, and other prevention efforts.

In this context, language access is not understood only as a service but also as a social justice issue. Serving a community is not only about having the language capacity but also the cultural competency to collaborate with and comprehend the strengths and needs of such communities. As a national organization, the NSVRC is interested in identifying ways of supporting and learning from agencies that engage in prevention and intervention with Spanish-speaking communities. More specifically, the NSVRC is interested in learning more about how it, as a resource center, can help expand training, technical assistance, and other forms of resources to enable agencies to sustain or establish their collaborations with Spanish-speaking communities.

More Information:

NSVRC will announce successful applicants by September 1, 2010 . If you have any questions about the Multilingual Access Project, the LACNA, your proposal, or any other issue, please feel free to contact:
