Artists Bios:

T.U.E aka Thee United Empire, is a group made up of three friends with one singular goal. To make fun and enjoyable music. Big Mike (Hawley, MN), C.J. "Chours Joe" (MNPLS), and Chancey ( Moorhead, MN) have been making music together for the better part of the last 13 years. Together they've performed alongside several award winning artists such as: Nelly, T-Pain, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and many more chart topping artists like Yelawolf, Unk, Tech N9ne, and others. They've released several singles such as Famous and Red Solo Cup and eventually released their 1st E.P, "Rise of an Empire." As a UNITE, the three strive to create songs that not only represent their real life experiences, but also relate and connect with their fans. In their eyes, EVERYONE can be a member of T.U.E. It's not just a musical act, it's a brotherhood....a family...an empire.

My name is Kiri, but I am known as Moonie.  I am a North Dakotan born and raised. I have been singing since I can last remember. I do weddings, funerals, I was in a classic Rockband for 3 years and went to American Idol prior to doing music with T.U.E. The moment we performed together we vibed and I have been a featured guest with them ever since. They are more than just people I do music with, they are family.

Description

In observation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, The Victim Services Program of Family Services Incorporated is hosting our annual Lunch and Learn training opportunity. Titled Abuse in Plain Sight, the Lunch and Learn will feature national consultant, researcher, trainer and author, Jimmy Hinton along with clergy abuse survivor and advocate, Shaun Dougherty.

The son of a pastor and now a pastor himself, Jimmy Hinton began his work in uncovering the deception of abuse when his sister disclosed her own abuse at the hands of their father. Jimmy reported his father to authorities, which led to his confession of 23 more victims and a conviction of 30-60 years. Since then, Jimmy has collaborated and researched with neuroscientists Dr. Stephen Macknik and Dr. Susana Martinez-Conde, focusing his research on deception techniques of skilled abusers who molest children in plain sight. Jimmy has also worked with acclaimed magicians in understanding and recognizing sleight of hand and focus of attention psychology.

Shaun Dougherty is a survivor of child clergy abuse and since disclosing as an adult, has advocated for other survivors and continues to fight to end statute of limitation laws in Pa and in other states. Shaun is nationally and internationally recognized for his work in advocating for survivors’ voices to be heard and justice to be found. In his spare time, he also owns Crescent Grill in Long Island, NY, a Farm-to-Table restaurant and art gallery.
