Each year on June 15, we honor older survivors of abuse on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. A significant portion of elder abuse is violence against women. As 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65 every day in the United States, the number of cases of domestic violence and sexual assault in later life will continue to rise. On Thursday, June 9 at 11 Eastern, 10 Central, 9 Mountain and 8 Pacific time, please join the Department of Justice Office on Violence against Women, and the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL), and the White House Advisor on Violence against Women as we highlight national and local efforts to address abuse in later life. During this webinar, NCALL will unveil a new resource for community-based advocates with guiding principles and practical strategies for working with older adults.
