We can’t sustain SANE Programs without sustaining and supporting Forensic Nurses. This week is Forensic Nurses Week and I’m taking the opportunity to write a thank you letter to all the Forensic Nurses out there working to provide the best care possible to survivors of sexual violence.
Dear Forensic Nurses,
Thank you for letting your compassion show. Thank you for being there. Thank you for all of the training that you have received to be able to provide sexual assault survivors with the medical care they need. Thank you for putting your patients first. Thank you for taking those extra on-call shifts. I know that you often end up eating out of vending machines to make sure that you have time for your patients. I hope that this thank you letter will remind you to show compassion for yourself and help others in building a healthy work environment around you. Thank you for listening to survivors and their advocates. Feel good about the good you are doing in the world.
With love and respect,
Let your gratitude show by sending your own thank you card? Check out this fancy card available from the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
