Formerly known as " Slutwalk", the march has been rebranded as the Marchto End Rape Culture in an effort to be more inclusive and appeal to a wider audience. Thesuccess in the re-branding has brought in more supporting organizations and attracted over a1,000 supporters in 2014.The march begins at l la.m. in Thomas Paine Plaza where attendees willstart their journey through center city passing by City Hall en route to Rittenhouse Square, thendown Locust St and ending back in Thomas Paine Plaza. Participants are encouraged to bringposters with positive and educational messages such as "My Body, My Choice" to enlightenonlookers about the effects of rape culture on society. Chant leaders will rally patrons withmantras that will spread the message that rape culture in today's world is not OK and needs to bestopped. Please make and bring your own posters to carry during the march. We will also dosome poster making before we march at this event.This event is a safe space for survivors and inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, abilities,ages and races. Therapists will be on site to assist anyone who is triggered during the event.The march will begin and conclude with eleven special guest speakers who will present aboutvarious aspects of rape culture such as: what it is, what can be done to prevent it and how it canbe addressed within our communities (just to name a few). Speakers include: Nelly Fitzpatrick(City of Philadelphia, LGBT Liaison), La'Donna Boyens (Positive Women's Network, Co-Chair), Kaila Boulware (Rutgers Women Organized Against Harassment, Feministing.com), Zahre Belle (Poet),Dr. Timaree Schmit, LaQuisha Anthony (V.O.l.C.E.), Destine Cubler (Poet),Celena Morrison (Trans* Wellness Project), Danagh Dandurand, (March to End Rape CultureOrganizers), Tara Murtha (Women's Law Project), and Shevaun Brannigan (Poet). Philly's 5th Annual Take Back the Night
Thursday April 23th, 2015
Meet up for marches at 5:45 pm (at one of the 4 locations listed below).

The marches will begin from various meet up points throughout the city:
North Point – 22nd & Fairmount – contact is Michael, at: Michael@michaelalbany.com

The marches will combine for the rally at the First Unitarian church at 2125 Chestnut St.
We will have a “Bust the Myths” action outside the church.
The event will continue with a speak-out and testimonials of survivors and supports “Breaking the Silence” about their experiences with domestic & sexual violence and to reduce the stigma of talking about violence.
We will end with a candle light vigil to remember and support victims and survivors of violence as well as a symbol of the importance of shedding light on and talking about  violence in our communities.
Tables and resources will be set up by supporting organizations in our coalition.
