The advocate core training content reflects a philosophical approach to services which emphasizes an empowerment model to working with sexual assault survivors.This training satisfies the 30 hours of initial sexual assault training required by the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy. Part 1 is a 7.5 hour online tutorial that you must complete prior to attending Part 2 of this training. You will get access to this online tutorial when WCSAP confirms your registration for the training. Part 2 is a 22.5 hour in-person training that takes place in Lacey from July 29th, 2014 to July 30th.

This training is open to therapists who are working in settings where they will be providing the entire TF-CBT therapy model to child victims and their family members. Participants should only sign up if they commit to attending both the TF-CBT training and telephone case consultations. The Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training and consultation is provided by Claudia Kirkland of Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress. The goal of this Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) components-based training and consultation is to teach the basic principles of effective trauma therapy with children and their families, and promote the consistent use of interventions that work for the variety of conditions and concerns of traumatized children/families seeking treatment.
