Survivors and supporters come together for a peaceful remembrance stroll. Walkers will carry candles through downtown Portsmouth to inform the community about SASS and our mission to end sexual violence.
Tohdenasshai Shelter Home is hosting our 1st Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Walk on Wednesday April 20, 2011 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. The walk will begin and end back at the local chapter house, with special guest speakers; Ernest Tsosie, Jr. & John Tsosie of "Walking the Healing Path" & Ernie Tsosie III of 'James & Ernie Comedy Duo", along with other guests.

How does crime impact you, your family, and your community? Most of us are affected in one way or another by crime. It affects all of us, it IS your business! Do you want to get involved but are not sure how? How can we take steps in the present to reshape our future?

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, The Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, & Gender Violence is a movement to increase awareness that men can and will stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Men will literally walk in women’s high heeled shoes. This event encourages men to make the world a safer place by preventing rape, sexual assault, and gender violence and gives men the opportunity to publicly demonstrate their courage and commitment to preventing gender violence.
The 6th Annual Take it All Back event will include a community walk (1.5 miles) and speak out. PCAR collaborated with WOAR for this event. Judge Sue Carbon will be attending.

YWCA of Greater Harrisburg will have a table with information, a pregame interview on the field and will be throwing the first pitch. Sexual assualt statistics and information will be shown throughout the game on the Jumbotron. To purchase tickets at the special group rate of $7.50/ ticket for box seats contact Annie Aebhardt by Friday April 1.
Thursday, April 14 - Sexual Assault Awareness Panel (11:30 a.m; CUB 260). Speakers from the community (including the local District Attorney, Gettysburg Chief of Police, Director of Survivors, among others) will talk about the sexual assault issues on college campuses.
