March 8, 2011 marks 100 years of celebrating International Women's Day. This day, devoted to thinking globally, acting locally in an effort to secure women's rights to education, employment, medical care, and safety from violence, began in Europe in 1911.
Family Violence Prevention Fund and The National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse
Dr. Graffunder will discuss the National Prevention and Health Promotion Strategy and opportunities to prevent violence and abuse. The webinar will also feature updates from the Family Violence Prevention Fund on the impact the Affordable Care Act for victims of abuse including updates on the IOM Committee on Preventive Services for Women, the new release of home visitation guidance as it relates to victims of abuse, and an update on the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act that was recently reauthorized.
