This fun, family-friendly event will encourage us all to work together to end sexual assault and abuse.  Participatns of all ages will pair up to step out together against sexual violence.

If 500 pairs participate, we will break the world record for the most pairs in a three-legged race!

The entry fee is only $20 per pair.  Rase additional funds for SARA's programs by collecting pledges from friends and family. 

The race will be held at the Downtown Mall, Charlottesville.  The race beins at the Free Speech Wall.  Festivities, kids activities, and sign-in begin at 10am, and the race kicks off at 11am.  Please be there to sign in by 10:45am.

The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance is excited to sponsor a 3-day conference addressing the primary prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence (SV/IPV). This conference will showcase innovative primary prevention projects from across North America, as well as highlight Virginia-based prevention initiatives. Our national speakers will showcase programs and concepts consistent with promising practices in the primary prevention of SV/IPV. In practice, the primary prevention of SV/IPV means promoting the factors associated with healthy relationships and healthy sexuality, and counteracting the factors associated with first-time perpetration.

The Charlottesville Women's Choir sings primarily a cappella music from a variety of cultural traditions; our themes include women's issues, peace, justice, and spirituality. CWC started in 1984 with just 11 members; 25 years later, CWC has grown to 30 members and continues its tradition of singing at various vigils, services, and an annual spring benefit concert.

We will have lovely musical guests and artists from the Richmond area joining us during the reception: Lydia Ooghe, Alison Self and The Bird and Her Consort. The reception will also include food donated by local restaurants. The reception is included in the "suggested donation" price of $20. Tickets are available at the door only, and all proceeds go to benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) & to V-Day's Spotlight Women in Haiti.

The performance will begin at 8:00 pm and features monologues performed by women from around the Greater Richmond area. Firehouse Theatre Project's presentation of The Vagina Monologues is a local effort within the worldwide context of the 2011 V-Day Campaign.
