This free P.O.S.T. approved course will be presented by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. The course will provide participants with the information and skills necessary to return to their respective agencies and teach domestic violence and sexual assault intervention and investigation skills. Program topics will include updated legal issues, proper service of protective orders, investigative techniques, officer and victim survival techniques, sexual abuse investigative techniques and more. Students attending the school will not only receive classroom instruction, but will have the opportunity to participate in various practical scenarios as well.

INSTRUCTORS: Instructors include Mark Wynn, International Law Enforcement Expert, David Kitts, Knoxville, Police Department, Joanne Archambault, Director EVAW International, and Kathy Walsh, Director, TN Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Each shirt is decorated to represent a particular women's experience, by the survivor herself or by someone who cares about her.You can come by the Women's Center during office hours to leave a shirt for the display or to make one.

This training will address the ever changing world of technology and how it affects survivor safety.  This interactive training will introduce advocates to the risks and benefits of technology to victims and survivors as well as how to safety plan around technology.  The presenters, Elizabeth Edmondson and Emily Hall, work with a national group of “tech advocates” formed by the Safety Net Project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.  This workshop is constantly evolving based on new technology and suggestions from advocates like you!  Attend this workshop to learn and share your experiences regarding technology and safety.

The cost of the training is $50 for members and $75 for non-members and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and all training materials.
