The National Indian Country Training Initiative is pleased to announce a training titled The Investigation and Prosecution of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Crimes in Indian Country. Travel and lodging accommodations will be provided by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Legal Education. This training is designed for federal and tribal investigators, prosecutors, and victim witness personnel who work domestic violence and sexual assault cases in Indian country and will focus on cases with adult and adolescent victims. The training will cover applicable federal assault and sexual assault statues, interviewing victims and suspects, implementation of Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA 2013), trial issues including pre-trial motions, the use of expert testimony, and common defenses.THIS IS A FREE TRAINING.
