The SVRI is pleased to announce its second international conference, the SVRI Forum 2011: Moving the agenda forward. The conference will focus on research priorities to strengthen our responses to sexual violence globally and to encourage participants to network, share ideas and exciting strategies in the field. They are honoured to invite researchers, academics, policy-makers, activists and others to submit their abstracts for presentation at the Forum. Abstract submission will be open until 31 May 2011.
SVRI Workshop on Researcher Trauma, Safety and Sexual Violence Research, 20-21st July, Medical Research Council, Pretoria, South Africa:
SVRI would like to invite you to a workshop on researcher trauma, safety and sexual violence research. Key aims of the workshop are to: develop awareness of and responsiveness to researcher trauma; model protective behaviours; share personal strategies and assist with the development of self care strategies; facilitate discussion of this issue, and inform the development of guidelines for the care and support of researchers working on sexual violence. Accommodation and travel costs are to be covered by the participant.
