Luncheon at the Capitol - Building a World We Want to Live In. A World Free from Sexual, Relationship, and Family Violence. Peer Solutions is bringing together STAND & SERVE members, legislators, school administrators, and community and family members to discuss what we can all do to prevent sexual, relationship, and family violence(which includes child abuse). There will also be the famous Capitol Tour provided by Tom Prezelski.
The Red Crystal Gala’s mission is to provide funding and financial assistance to Native American nonprofit organizations that service, support, and implement programs against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
The first annual Red Crystal Gala event will encompass 3 national events to be held in Phoenix, AZ., on April 16-18, 2010.
On Friday, April 16, 2010 a Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Wild Horse Pass Resort, Whirlwind Golf Course at the Gila River Indian Community. Several noted PGA Native Americans have been invited to participate including Notah Begay. A silent auction, raffle and other chances to win will highlight the event.
On Saturday, April 17, 2010 a Charity Gala Ball will ensue at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. Many native celebrities have been invited as well as Vice President Joe Biden. VP Joe Biden is the author of the Violence Against Women Act and we hope to have him present. Additionally, there will be a pre-party for the sponsorship level guests to attend and meet our celebrities. A silent auction, raffle, and photo opportunities will be a part of the experience. A comedian, dinner musician, introduction of native celebrities and to top off the evening, dancing.
On Sunday, April 18, 2010 a Charity Motorcycle Poker Run will be held. Place TBD.
NNEDV's Safety Net project will be holding a conference, "To Share or Not to Share: Technology & Confidentiality Tools for Innovative Partnerships" from October 26-28, 2009 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Innovative and collaborative partnerships face various confidentiality issues in regard to technology use, such as technology location, ownership, use and security; data collection and databases; confidentiality requirements; and protocols and policies.
