This document summarizes the research on childhood stress and its implications for adult health and well-being. Of particular interest is the stress caused by child abuse, neglect, and repeated exposure to sexual and intimate partner violence. This publication provides violence prevention practitioners with ideas about how to incorporate information on childhood stress into their work.

This handbook was designed by NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund to help employers effectively address the issue of violence against women with creative and inexpensive solutions. This second, updated edition of the 1996 guide explains the pertinent legal issues, and suggests ways employers can develop strategies for dealing with violence-related issues that fit their needs, and those of their employees.

Preventing Sexual Violence: An Educational Toolkit on for Health Care Professionals (Web Version)

This report discusses the results of a survey, conducted by the National Law Center On Homelessness & Poverty, of landlord sexual assault and/or rape of tenants. It explores the ways that sexual violence may contribute to homelessness and restricted access to housing for low-income individuals. The report provides recommendations and helpful steps for advocates and attorneys. The report also provides a list of State laws that ensure housing rights for survivors of sexual violence and includes contact information for Fair Housing Organizations.

This guide identifies six key components of child sexual abuse prevention for organizations.  It includes prevention goals and critical strategies for each component. Suggestions for addressing challenges and tools to help organizations get started are also provided.
 
Preventing Child Sexual Abuse Within Youth Serving Organizations: Getting Started on Policies and Procedures

This document has been formatted so that families, community groups, and schools can use each section as a separate handout or use them all together as one complete document. Prevention tips and resources are provided to help children and youth of different ages or stages of development.
