This special issue of Restoration highlights the growing movement to address sexual violence against native women.

 

This document aims to provide information for policy-makers and planners to develop data-driven and evidence-based programmes for preventing intimate partner and sexual violence against women.

This Guide describes how to develop, implement, and evaluate a process for training professionals to engage in sexual violence and intimate partner violence prevention. The Guide is designed to help practitioners tailor individual trainings to different groups of professionals. It provides definitions of sexual violence and intimate partner violence and includes real-life examples to illustrate theory put into practice. In addition to step-by-step guidance on all the tasks necessary for planning a training, the Guide includes tip sheets, worksheets, checklists, and an extensive resource list.

This Bureau of Justice Statistics report includes results from the second  National Inmate Survey (NIS-2) which includes data from 167 state and federal prisons, 286 jails, and 10 special confinement facilities operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Military, and correctional authorities in Indian country. It was administered to 81,566 inmates ages 18 or older. The report includes information on prevalence, circumstances surrounding victimization, facility rankings and variations based on gender, race, educational background, sexual orientation and previous sexual victimization.  4.4% of prison inmates and 3.1% of jail inmates reported one or more incidents of sexual victimization.

The occurrence of sexual violence is related to one’s access to safe and affordable housing. This is true for both sexual violence perpetration and vicpicture of door of white housetimization. Oppression can both heighten risk and compound the barriers that sexual violence victims and survivors encounter in housing arenas. This guide is intended to equip advocates with information and resources to support their housing advocacy efforts. To these ends, information on housing as both a sexual violence prevention and intervention advocacy area is explored.

The Governor's Office for Women's Initiative and Outreach, Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Department of Health convened a statewide Task Force broadly representing Ohio's campus communities and partners to indentify best practices to prevent and respond to sexual and intimate partner violence and stalking. This Guidebook identifies key best practices for short and long term action recommendations for colleges and universities to implement in four focused areas: Preparedness, Prevention, Response and Recovery.

In 2008, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center partnered with the Victims Rights Law Center, National Sexual Assault Coalition Resource Sharing Project, Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, University of New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania Community Legal Services to develop and conduct a national survey on housing and sexual violence.  This report provides a summary of key survey findings and policy recommendations.

This reports documents hate-motivated violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people in 2009 in the United States as reported to member organizations of the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP).
