This is the sixth annual TIP report and “is intended to raise global awareness and spur foreign governments to take effective actions to counter all forms of trafficking in persons – a form of modern-day slavery.” The report also assesses foreign governments’ efforts to fight trafficking in persons, including prosecution, conviction and prison sentences for traffickers, victim protection, and prevention efforts.
