This book presents a compelling orientation to the importance of engaging bystanders in sexual violence prevention. The narrative provides background on the development of an approach that empowers each of us to be involved in prevention. It discusses various reasons why individuals who witness a range of inappropriate behaviors may or may not take action, and presents ways to encourage and develop greater bystander involvement. Finally, this book serves as an excellent training resource; it provides activities and trainer instructions throughout that make it a useful educational guide on bystander engagement in sexual violence prevention. The article begins by reviewing up-to-date research suggesting that the rate of false reporting for sexual assault is in the range of 2-8%.  It also critiques prior research suggesting that the rate of false reporting is far higher, and explores the reasons why this issue is so challenging for professionals in the field.  Questions addressed in the article include the following:

*    How many sexual assault reports are false?
*    What is the actual definition of a false report?
*    But what if part of the report is false?

The article then concludes with a discussion of how professionals can work to overcome these challenges, and how to handle the frustrating reality of "real" false reports.

Presents findings on nonfatal stalking victimization in the U.S., based on the largest data collection of such behavior to date. Data were collected in a supplement to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) and sponsored by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). Topics covered in the report are stalking and harassment prevalence rates by demographic characteristics, offender characteristics, victim-offender relationship, duration of stalking, cyberstalking, protection measures, and emotional impact. The report also includes data on whether victim sought help from others, involvement of a weapon, injuries, other crimes perpetrated by the stalker, and response by the criminal justice system.

This manual contains a variety of information around understanding the federal legislative process, including action tools such as tips for meeting with your legislator.

This report discusses the results of a survey, conducted by the National Law Center On Homelessness & Poverty, of landlord sexual assault and/or rape of tenants. It explores the ways that sexual violence may contribute to homelessness and restricted access to housing for low-income individuals. The report provides recommendations and helpful steps for advocates and attorneys. The report also provides a list of State laws that ensure housing rights for survivors of sexual violence and includes contact information for Fair Housing Organizations.

This guide identifies six key components of child sexual abuse prevention for organizations.  It includes prevention goals and critical strategies for each component. Suggestions for addressing challenges and tools to help organizations get started are also provided.
