Supporting Crime Victims With Disabilities Curriculum Ali Mailen Perrotto Mon, 08/06/2012

Crime victims with disabilities may face challenges that other victims do not face, such as the ability to access services or communicate with advocates. Supporting Crime Victims With Disabilities, a new training curriculum, focuses on recognizing and addressing these challenges so that all victims with disabilities receive the support and assistance they need. This curriculum is part of Project NIA’s “Exploring the Roots of Violence” initiative, and includes over 30 poems that address gender-based violence as well as tips and suggestions for individuals who are interested in facilitating poetry circles with girls and young women. Nursing Response to Elder Mistreatment Curriculum

The goal of this course is to help nurses acquire essential knowledge and skills to appropriately respond to elder mistreatment. This course prepares nurses to integrate nursing and forensic sciences into the care of vulnerable older adults who have been mistreated or are at high risk for mistreatment by trusted others.

It includes 12 Modules with Instructor Materials, Participant Materials and PowerPoint presentations.  Additional resources and appendices are also available online.
