The Sexual Assault Demonstration Initiative (SADI), the first large scale project of its kind, was created to enhance sexual assault outreach, services, and community partnerships in dual/multi-service programs. Six sites across the nation engaged in a four-year process of assessment, planning, and implementation of new and enhanced services and organizational capacity building. Below are the materials that were developed based on the lessons learned across project sites.

Foundations of Advocacy Training Manual
This resource offers tools to equip new advocates with core knowledge and skills for supporting survivors of sexual violence. We recognize that there is a wide breadth of information and learning that is critical to strong advocacy programs. Consider this just a start to your agency's training program! Our hope is that every program builds on the lessons in this manual by offering and requiring regular and ongoing training for all advocates in their programs, consistent with state/territory/tribal and agency standards.

This resource recommends dual/multi-service programs reconsider the concept of advocacy to be more responsive to the diverse and wide-ranging needs of survivors of sexual violence, and re-envision advocacy to expand beyond the care and support provided on helplines, in courtrooms, or hospitals, to also include the critical long-term emotional support survivors need in a range of contexts as they heal.
