Building Capacity for Comprehensive Sexual Assault Services in the US Territories
This is a collaborative project with the National Organization of Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault (SCESA), the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC). This project supports capacity building in relation to sexual assault service delivery with 5 US territories: Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
The objectives of this project are:
To assess effectiveness of services to victims of sexual violence in each territory.
To increase service provider knowledge on sexual violence and comprehensive responses to victims
To help territories create individualized strategic approaches to responding to sexual violence in their communities.
NSVRC and SCESA provide training, technical assistance, and customized support to each territory.
