This position will report to the Title IX Coordinator and will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all other activities. <!--break-->Essential FunctionUnder the supervision of the Title IX Coordinator, the Title IX Investigator will be responsible for managing investigations of incidents of alleged gender-based misconduct including: sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, intimate partner violence and stalking where a University student, faculty or staff member is accused of this behavior. <!--break-->Characteristic DutiesWork closely with multiple university offices and community resources, including but not limited to the Office of General Counsel, Office of University Judicial Affairs, Provost’s Office, Office of Human Resources, and the University of Cincinnati Police Department to ensure thorough investigative process and compliance with applicable equal opportunity laws and nondiscrimination.<!--break-->Act as an impartial party in conducting prompt and thorough investigations of alleged incidents, and provide detailed, unbiased reports regarding the findings of investigations. <!--break-->Prepare investigative plans and timeline for alleged gender-based misconduct including interviewing the impacted party, respondent, and relevant witnesses; advice impacted parties and respondents of their rights; gather and secure relevant documentation for the complainant, witnesses and respondent; keep detailed, consistent, and accurate records; maintain timely communication with all parties and community stakeholders; provide on-going updates to the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator; draft and issue reports regarding investigative findings; act as a neutral party throughout all aspects of the investigation and ensue a prompt, fair, and neutral process for all parties; and maintain a high level of confidentiality during all proceedings. <!--break-->Supervise assigned staff; hire, orient, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. <!--break-->Implement and keep apprised of new developments and best practices in Title IX investigation procedures. <!--break-->Assist, as needed, with campus training, reporting, campus programming and outreach, and other duties as assigned.
