Integrating Evidence-Based Practices Into Victim Services

On July 20, 2011, at 2 p.m. (eastern time), the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will present a Web Forum discussion with Ben Saunders, Ph.D., and Phelan Wyrick, Ph.D., on best practices for integrating evidence-based practices into victim services. Dr. Saunders is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he also serves as Associate Director of the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center and Director of the center’s Family and Child Program. Dr. Wyrick is a Senior Advisor to the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). In this role, he leads OJP’s Evidence Integration Initiative, which provides tools and information to help justice practitioners and policymakers understand, access, and integrate evidence-based practices into their work.
