5th Annual Historic Triangle Conference on Crimes Against Women
08/22/2013 - 8:00am to 08/23/2013 - 4:15pm
York County Violence Against Women Task Force
This year marks the 5th Anniversary of the Historic Triangle Conference on Crimes Against Women. As in the past, this training on August 22-23 focuses on the multi-disciplinary approach to crimes against women, so there will be sessions on sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking designed for law enforcement, advocates, attorneys, probation and parole, nurses/medical personnel, counselors/mental health professionals, military advocates and staff, as well as other allied professionals from a number of other related fields. There will be two major tracks this year - 1) issues affecting military families and military victims and 2) issues facing women ages 18-25. There will be "mini-tracks" on sexual assault, investigating/prosecuting crimes against women, understanding lethality in domestic violence, working with offenders, and assisting immigrant victims. Law enforcement in-service credits and attorney MCLEs are in process. Registration information is $100 for the 2-day training and is available online. Conference brochure, including session information, is available online.
