The major emphasis of the Preventive Medicine and Public Health Training Grant Program is to increase the number of preventive medicine physicians and promote greater access to population-based healthcare. The funding may be used to support resident costs, infrastructure and faculty development activities. At least 75 percent of the funds must be used for trainee support, such as tuition for the master's degree in public health or other master's degree related to the preventive medicine specialty, fees, travel, and stipends (reasonable living expenses).
