Allegheny College, a private liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Title IX Coordinator.  This is a full-time exempt administrative position.  Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Title IX Coordinator serves as the individual with primary responsibility for coordinating and implementing the College’s Title IX compliance efforts in support of a safe and respectful environment for all campus constituents.  

Position Responsibilities
The Title IX Coordinator serves as the College official with primary responsibility for ensuring institutional compliance with Title IX laws and regulations.  The Title IX Coordinator directs the College-wide education, training and outreach programming related to Title IX.  The individual monitors the development and implementation of the College’s Discrimination and Sexual Harassment policy.  She or he ensures prompt, effective, equitable investigation and timely resolution of all complaints of sexual violence and sex/gender discrimination.  The Title IX Coordinator will supervise four Deputy Title IX Coordinators and work collaboratively with them to promote informed and consistent communication with all campus constituents about related policies and implementation.  She or he collects and reports data related to Title IX.  The individual provides a long-term vision for compliance and community development that further enhances a safe and respectful environment that best supports the mission of Allegheny College as a residential, liberal arts institution.  

Desired Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required.  Advanced degree in related field preferred. Experience working within higher education is strongly desired.  An understanding of the residential liberal arts college experience and a willingness to work collaboratively within a highly consultative campus culture is required.  The following additional skills and knowledge are desired:

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a relevant field;
Demonstrated knowledge of current state and federal law and regulations, practices and procedures, identified best practices and trends in the field of education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX;
A proven track record of support for students and a willingness to work collaboratively with them;
The ability to build trust and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners;
Experience successfully working with confidential and sensitive information;  
Demonstrated thorough understanding of the many experiences and expressions of trauma caused by sexual violence and harassment;
Exceptional oral and written communication, planning, project management, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build relationships and balance the multiple, varying and even conflicting interests of diverse stakeholders.
Proven ability to prepare and present detailed reports, educational programs, and assessments.
Excellent judgment and ability to work independently.
A clear understanding of the ways in which recent Title IX developments are changing the conversation on campuses across the nation.
Demonstrated cultural competence; proven effectiveness in serving the needs of a diverse campus community.
