Brandeis University seeks an experienced professional with a sophisticated understanding of the cultural and social causes of sexual assault to provide services to survivors and to coordinate prevention efforts in the campus community.  In the role of Sexual Assault Services & Prevention Specialist this person will coordinate advocacy services for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, complying with the VAWA Federal Campus Security Act and Title IX regulations, serving as a liaison to student organizations, and conducting outreach and education events to promote a healthy campus environment. 

● Required Skills & Knowledge: Master's in a relevant field, such as Criminology; Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Social Work; Public Health; Education; Divinity; Rabbinical Studies; Sociology; Psychology; or Nursing; or a J.D.; or equivalent experience. ● Sophisticated theoretical understanding of the cultural and social causes of sexual and other gender-based violence; deep understanding of cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, sexual, and gender diversity and the ability to lead programming tailored to the needs of individual groups (e.g., LGBTIQ, students of color, international students, student-athletes) ● Ability to assess and refer students to a range of modes of healing, such as therapy, theater workshops, trauma-sensitive yoga, and other type of workshops; ability to direct a government grant (funding pending); familiarity with Title IX, Clery Act, and VAWA; experience as an advocate, prevention specialist, or provider of other services in the area of sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking. ● Demonstrated ability to assess professional literature on sexual and other gender-based violence relevant to college students and to evaluate its applicability and utility for effectiveness on our campus. ● Demonstrated skills in gathering and synthesizing information to develop health promotion initiatives and educational materials for a diverse group of students; demonstrated skills in a variety of educational methods, including presentations, trainings, small group facilitation and individual sessions. ● Strong written/oral/interpersonal communication skills; and proficiency in a variety of computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheet and PowerPoint). ● Candidates must be willing to conduct periodic evening/weekend programs and events.
