The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, located in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Licensed Sex Offender Program Therapist to provide therapeutic services at a 12-bed juvenile sex offender treatment unit, housed at a post-adjudication residential facility. The position involves offering and participating in a wide range of psychological and program duties, including: a) group, individual, and family reintegration therapy in the facility and in the community, b) comprehensive specialized assessments for sexual risk behaviors, c) court recommendations and court appearances, d) evaluating youth’s treatment progress e) crisis intervention f) program development and program evaluation, g) treatment team consultation,  and h) participating in the training of psychology interns. A successful candidate would be knowledgeable of current sex offender theory and practice, child and adolescent development, behavior modification techniques, and program development. In addition, the therapist would need to be able to function and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree or Master’s degree in psychology and be licensed as a LSOTP in the State of Texas.
