LGBTQ Violence Prevention Health Educator

Serves as the health educator for educational programming including development and implementation of primary prevention programs, outreach, awareness campaigns, and overall promotion of Healthy Campus Environment for the LGBTQ student community.
Plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based primary prevention programs including bystander intervention in the areas of oppression, hate crimes and language, violence against the LGBTQ community and healthy relationships and sexuality with an emphasis on reaching residence hall students, first- year students, sorority and fraternity members and athletes.
Provide resources and programming to faculty who teach courses at the University that directly relate to sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and healthy sexuality in the LGBTQ community. Act as a faculty resource for leading discussions in the classroom.


Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Gender and/or Women’s Studies, College Student Personnel, or related field preferred.
 Graduate Certificate in Gender Violence Intervention or equivalent preferred.
 Experience with outreach in an educational setting preferred.
 Knowledge of social justice concepts and principles preferred.
Must demonstrate the ability to plan, develop and manage programs. Strong project management skills.
Solid written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with people of various levels of authority and to work collaboratively to achieve program goals.
Ability to work in a diverse environment required.
