Executive Director

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, or 5 plus years of experience in Executive position 2. Experience in organizational leadership and demonstrated ability to work independently 3. Excellent writing skills 4. Experience working with Native American communities 5. Knowledge of or experience with local, state, and federal laws and regulations as they apply to the mission of the organization and VAWA 6. Successful grant writing experience 7. Budget management skills 8. Demonstrate the ability to build working partnerships and relationships 9. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of violence against women and advocacy 10. The following qualifications would be preferred: 11. Experience working in a non-profit organization 12. Experience working with state, city, federal and county governments and agencies 13. Knowledge of Native American “Lakota” culture, believes, and ceremonies 14. Strong public speaking skills 15. Demonstrated ability to build and work with a coalition 16. Experience organizing conferences, seminars, or summits 17. Self-identify as a woman who has been battered/raped
