Oversees the PCAR Development Plan and coordinates all fundraising activities, to include an annual appeal, special events and major gifts.  Is responsible for managing donor relationships in concert with the CEO and Board of Directors.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee the creation of a Development Plan by establishing short- and long-range goals and support members of the Board in their fundraising efforts.

Identifies prospects and oversee donor database.

Coordinates fund drives for special projects.

Organizes direct mail or annual giving campaigns to reach potential contributors.

Plans and coordinates annual special event.

Coordinates and participates in solicitation of individual donors, corporations and foundations.

Establish and oversee a legacy program.

Researches public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for projects and programs.

Supervises and coordinates activities of staff engaged in maintaining records of contributors and grants and preparing letters of appreciation to be sent to contributors.

Recruit volunteers to support special events and other development activities.


Functional Responsibilities:

Represent PCAR in areas that promote resource development

Provide training and technical assistance to sexual assault centers on development and special events

Serve as staff liaison to the Board Development Committee

Act as liaison to assigned centers through PCAR Partners

Participate on the E and A team if needed for development issues

Prepare grant proposals as requested

Assist in development of marketing materials specific to fundraising activities

Attend Board meetings as requested by the CEO

Represent the CEO at meetings as assigned



Directly supervises 1 staff position, and may occasionally supervise an intern or volunteer.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
