Position Summary:Under the general supervision of the Counseling Services Manager and Director Of Counseling and Outreach, the Counselor will provide direct services to adults and children at selected WEAVE counseling sites.Responsibilities: Direct Client Services

  • Provide individual and group counseling for children/youth/adults
  • Maintain accurate and complete client files
  • Identify, assess and report cases of suspected child abuse/neglect to Child Protective Services
  • Advocate for the concerns of clients with their support systems, schools, the legal system, social service agencies and other helping professionals
  • Foster problem-solving, conflict resolution and non-violent interactive skills among parents and childreOther Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in agency meetings and committees, as assigned
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and other work-related documents
  • Represent the agency in community speaking engagements and networking opportunities, as assigned
  • Other job duties as assigned
Salary Level: 
$19/hr to start plus benefits, 401k w/ match, PTO
Qualifications: 
• MFT or MSW, with current BBS registration • Minimum of two years counseling experience working with children, youth and adults of various ages and backgrounds • Experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault preferred • Ability to work both independently and as a team member • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Complete WEAVE’s 68-hour peer counselor training (post-hiring requirement) • Provide copy of valid California driver license, have reliable transportation, and submit current proof of vehicle insurance • Required to stay current on BBS registration and carry individual liability insurance • Satisfactory results from DOJ background check Excellent oral and written communication skills Complete WEAVE’s 68-hour peer counselor training Provide copy of valid California driver’s license, have reliable transportation, and submit current proof of vehicle insurance Satisfactory results from DOJ background check and TB Test (post employment offer requirement)
