Reports To: Director of Therapy and OutreachSalary: $28,000 (plus health and life with 401(k) after year one with 3% match)Function: To enhance and expand comprehensive services for survivors of sexual assault to include crisis intervention, information, referral and advocacy in Sumter County and provide practice-based violence prevention strategies and awareness activities in the Midlands community. This position is housed full-time in Sumter County.Job Expectations:

  • Serve as the primary staff advocate for hospital accompaniment in Sumter County.
  • Serve as primary staff for first follow-up contact with survivors within 24 hours following a hospital accompaniment or hotline call in Sumter County.
  • Provide high quality crisis intervention and personal and legal advocacy services to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault/abuse.
  • Provide superb delivery of prevention and awareness activities in a variety of settings, including youth and adult audiences.
  • Represent the agency within key community-based task forces and promote agency services to the community.
  • Provide informational presentations related to sexual assault in the community.
  • Participate in the rotating staff on-call schedule.
  • Attend crisis, clinical, staff, and supervision meetings at agency headquarters in Columbia on a weekly basis.
  • Plan and coordinate a variety of awareness events in Sumter County.
  • Ensure that all grant objectives are met.

Qualifications: 
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field with at least one year’s experience providing crisis intervention services and public speaking. Experience working with victims of sexual/domestic violence and presenting to audiences of teens/youth preferred. Computer skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently, cultural competency, professionalism, and written and oral communication skills required. MUST reside in Sumter or be willing to relocate.
