This position is located in the Peace Corps, Office of Victim Advocacy and reports to the Director, Office of Victim Advocacy (Senior Victim Advocate). The incumbent is responsible for advocacy activities related to the agency's support of Volunteers who are victims of crime including sexual assault. Maintains full understanding of the agency's programs, policies, and procedures related to all support functions and services for Volunteers, with particular emphasis on outreach, counseling and health care, and safety and security. Maintains regular communications and outreach to victims to ensure access to and continuation of appropriate care, support and assistance. Keeps the Director of OVA informed of concerns, trends, deficiencies, successes, best practices, and all other related topics and matters concerning the agency's response and support to crime victims. Identifies areas of improvement, where possible, and makes recommendations to ensure better response and support for victims.

This position is exempt from the limitations specified in paragraphs (A) and (B) of paragraph (2) and paragraph (5) under section 7 (a) of the Peace Corps Act (22 U.S.C. 2506(a)). This position is required to be on call after regular working hours in order to respond to victims a maximum of two weeks per month. It also requires overseas travel with little to no advance notice in physically austere and operationally challenging conditions; is extensive in length (days to weeks); and requires lengthy on-duty work hours.

Performs work related to developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in various levels of government, private industry, and/or academic institutions to communicate and disseminate information about program mission and activities.
