The Assistant Director of the Office of Equity and Equal Opportunity (OEEO) will support the department's mission of promoting fairness and justice, ensuring that each member of the Miami University community is and feels included and promoting a diverse and welcoming environment that is equally accessible for all who live, learn, work and participate in activities at Miami.

The Assistant Director, an integral member of the OEEO team, will report directly to the Director of OEEO. This person will support the office's mission by working with the Director and other OEEO staff to compile and review data for Miami's annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) for minorities and females and also Miami's annual AAP for veterans and people with disabilities; follow and track federal regulation changes regarding equal employment / affirmative action, harassment, discrimination and retaliation; collect and analyze data for OEEO, as requested by the Director and/or other OEEO staff; track employment related movement of faculty and staff; assist Director and other OEEO staff with implementation of the AAP; perform affirmative action internal audits as required by federal and state government agencies; assist Associate Director with review of hire recommendations, promotion recommendations, recruitment plans, collection of applicant flow data, preparing applicant flow data reports and providing them to hiring departments; meet with search committees for unclassified/administrative searches. Compile data for and file Miami University's Federal Contractor Veterans' Employment (VETS-100A) Report.
In consultation with the Associate Director, conduct harassment and discrimination prevention and response trainings including Title IX; prepare annual report of harassment and discrimination trainings and other reports as needed; assist with harassment and discrimination investigations as needed; represent OEEO on various committees and at various meetings; ensure federal and state labor law posters are current and properly posted; and perform other duties as assigned.
