Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or in states which have enacted Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Five (5) years full-time nursing experience, two of which must have been in critical care
  • Two (2) years experience as an OAG Certified Adult (CA), Certified Pediatric (CP), or CA-CP SANE; may substitute OAG certification if OAG CA-CP SANE eligible and either a certified International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) SANE nurse for two years or a practicing sexual assault nurse examiner with at least three years experience
  • One or more years of managerial experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws relating to sexual assault, nursing, and SANE Certification
  • Knowledge of adult education practices and principles
  • Extensive skill in instructing adults and facilitating workshops
  • Skill in using a computer for word-processing, data entry/retrieval, internet access and various software applications, including, but not limited to WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university in a medical-related discipline
  • Knowledge of Board of Nursing requirements for SANE nurses and the Nursing Practice Act
  • More than two years as an OAG Certified CA-CP SANE
  • Victim Services experience
Salary Level: 
$3,894-$5,500/month, depending on qualifications
Description: 

Performs advanced administrative and consultative services, and technical assistance for the Office of the Attorney General of Texas' Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program. Work involves program administration and oversight; planning, development, and evaluation. Manages the SANE Contract Nurse Trainers and coordinates SANE training statewide for adult and child sexual assault nurse examiner certification. Provides consultative services and technical assistance to SANEs, governmental agencies, community organizations and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs).
