Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  •  Experience working with traditional college aged students on a campus.
  • Experience providing training, programming and outreach services.
  • Experience working with campus and community resources to deliver services.
  • Experience working with a diverse women’s population.
  • Evaluation, planning and implementation skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in higher education or related field.
  • Computer skills, including the ability to use desktop publishing software and design web pages.
  • Second language.
  •  Experience working with a federal grant.

Description: 

The Coordinator provides support for the implementation of a Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women grant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the development of a campus and community response team approach to stopping violence against women on campus.
  • Develop and present a mandatory prevention/education program for all new students annually.
  • Provide direction for training of security personnel.
  • Provide direction for training of campus disciplinary/judicial boards.
  • Develop programs and materials for the education of the campus community related to violence against women.
  • Work closely with Women’s Health programs to enhance victim services on campus.
  • Work closely with campus departments to improve the safety/security on campus.
  • Develop community relationships that enhance campus programs.
  • Manage data required for twice yearly reports to Department of Justice.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Work with campus and community departments to provide services and programs for Saint Mary’s College students.
  • Assess services, develop benchmarking data, revise and modify programs and services as necessary.
  • Serve on campus and community committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
