Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in human services field with experience in the sexual assault arena
  • Strong strategic planning, technical assistance and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, with individuals and among groups
  • Ability to promote strategic, measurable progression for program goals and objectives 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, content management applications and social networking/communications vehicles
  • Access to a car and valid drivers license; this position requires some travel within Maryland.

Description: 

The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) is looking for a candidate with knowledge in the sexual assault arena to provide strategic planning and leadership, technical assistance and training to sexual assault forensic nurse examiners, advocates and other allied professionals. This is a full-time position located at the Arnold, MD office that reports directly to the MCASA executive director.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for both Maryland Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) programs and Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) to further their work
  • Provide technical assistance to Maryland’s SAFE programs and SARTs
  • Coordinate with attorney(s) from MCASA’s Sexual Assault Legal Institute to address legal questions and needs
  • Provide training to sexual assault forensic nurse examiners
  • Implement sexual assault advocacy training curriculum for Maryland’s rape recovery programs
  • Assist in the production of training and technical assistance materials and other resources to support SAFE programs and SARTs
  • Support effective communications for both SAFE programs and SARTs, including the use of social networking/online communities
  • Conduct community outreach and education as it relates to SAFE/SART activities
  • Collect data needed for grant reports and oversee report preparation
  • Prioritize and fulfill responsibilities in accordance with available funding and grant requirements
  • Such other duties as assigned by executive director
