EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in liberal arts field with concentration in English or communication/journalism or education from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong writing and editing skills.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, centers, customers, and the general public.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Description: 

SUMMARY

Oversee Special Initiative Projects, prevention education projects and resources by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Collect, catalog and provide up-to-date educational articles, rape statistics and referrals as needed in coordination with Librarian
 
Maintain system for ordering, cataloging and distributing materials from PCAR library to member centers and the public in coordination with Librarian
 
Manage PCAR tape, book and periodicals library in coordination with Librarian
 
Assist NSVRC Librarian in cataloging and distributing materials from NSVRC library to state coalitions and other constituents
 
Represent PCAR with other state and national organizations as required
 
Participate as a member of the Evaluation & Assessment team & Partners
 
Contribute articles to PCAR/NSVRC newsletter
 
Assist with development and editing of educational brochures and materials, technical assistance bulletins, fact sheets and information packets
 
Assist in and/or facilitate the development of curricula
 
Negotiate curricula development details with consultants as needed
 
Assist with research
 
Attend board and other meetings as required
 
Coordinate and facilitate quarterly regional meetings for sexual assault program prevention education staff
 
Provide training and technical assistance to prevention education staff on prevention and evaluation strategies
 
Participate in PCAR prevention planning, advising development of standards, policies and protocols around prevention and evaluation
 
Serve on Training and Technical Assistance team
 
Participate in PCAR Diversity Council and diversity efforts of organization
 
Work in conjunction with the Finance and Contracts staff to assure compliance with contracts governing Special Initiative projects
 
Recruit staff and at least one outside reviewer for Special Initiative proposals
 
Assist as a liaison to all programs with Special Initiative grants
 
Coordinate the review, publication and distribution of all Special Initiative materials
 
Oversee the evaluation of the Special Initiative materials
 
Provide the marketing committee with originals of Special Initiative materials that will be designated for sale
