More than 700 people will be gathering for the National Sexual Assault Conference in Baltimore on Sept. 14-16. The annual, advocacy-based conference provides information, workshops and training opportunities on sexual violence prevention and intervention.

This year's conference, "Changing our Communities, Changing our World," is co-sponsored by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) and the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault. The three-day event will take place at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel.

The conference includes addresses by Linda C. Degutis, Director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Susan B. Carbon, Director of the U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women, and Delilah
Rumburg, CEO of Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, as well as a special announcement from Jane Randel, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Liz Claiborne, Inc.

"Each year, the conference provides an opportunity to increase awareness, forge partnerships, share prevention strategies and gain insight on research, evaluation and programs. This year, we're offering more than 80 workshops, so there's something valuable for everyone," says Joyce Lukima, Vice President of Services at the NSVRC.

The 2012 conference will be hosted by the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault on Aug. 22-24 in Chicago. Previous years, the conference was held in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh and Arlington, Va. For more on this year's conference, visit
