EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in project management, event planning and data entry. Work experience in sexual violence prevention and anti-oppression or related field strongly preferred.

The NSVRC Special Project Assistant supports the development and management of special grant projects. Current projects are focused on online resource development, training and technical assistance to victim service professional in the US Territories, support Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program development and sustainability and building the capacity of rural communities to address sexual violence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist staff with management of correspondence for special projects including correspondence with advisory groups and committees.
Coordinate pre-registration, accommodations and set-up for special project trainings and events.
Coordinate arrangements for outside speakers/trainers for special projects trainings and events including travel and contracts.
Manage communication with consultants and pilot test site participants including the maintenance of official files and contacts and the coordination of travel logistics for meetings.
Review invoices/reimbursement forms associated with special project events and training for accuracy.
Coordinate preparation of mailings related to special projects.
Oversee production of special project materials as assigned including: brochures, handouts, name tags, signs, certificates, and newsletters etc.
Assist special projects staff with the scheduling, conducting and synthesizing event and training evaluations.
Assist Associate Director with project planning and grant reporting.
Manage and update speakers and trainers database.
Manage NSVRC online calendar of events, trainings and opportunities.
Assist special projects staff with monthly updates to NSVRC website collection and summaries of listserv conversations.
Provide administrative support to staff assigned to special projects including data entry for Call Center.
Provide back up phone coverage.
Attend NSVRC and PCAR staff meetings, weekly call review and special projects team meetings.
Take notes at NSVRC and special projects team meetings.
Serve on PCAR/NSVRC teams as assigned, including Support Staff, Special Projects Team, Integrated Training & Technical Assistance Team.
Assist with layout and editing of documents as needed.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center serves as the principle information and resource center in the United States regarding all aspects of sexual violence. It provides national leadership, consultation and technical assistance by generating and facilitating the development and flow of information on sexual violence intervention and prevention strategies. The NSVRC works to address the causes and impact of sexual violence through collaboration, prevention efforts and the distribution of resources.

In 2008, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center partnered with the Victims Rights Law Center, National Sexual Assault Coalition Resource Sharing Project, Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, University of New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania Community Legal Services to develop and conduct a national survey on housing and sexual violence. This report provides a summary of key survey findings and policy recommendations.
Sexual violence and housing are intricately linked by several factors including access to affordable housing, various forms of oppression and sex offender management. This four page document offers information on each of these topics as well as a section on how advocates can help survivors.
