SAAM 2024: Estableciendo comunidades conectadas

 

Establecer comunidades conectadas nos ayuda a disminuir las probabilidades de que ocurran incidentes de abuso, agresión y acoso sexual en nuestras comunidades. Cualquier espacio donde las personas se reúnan es una comunidad: vecindarios, lugares de trabajo, campus universitarios, organizaciones e incluso espacios virtuales. Todas las personas formamos parte de una comunidad, a menudo, de muchas, incluso cuando nos sentimos desconectados o alejados de ellas.

En la comunidad hay poder. Las comunidades crean un sentido de pertenencia y nos recuerdan las maneras en que nuestras creencias, decisiones y actos generan impacto entre sí. El aspecto central de Establecer comunidades conectadas es garantizar la seguridad, la inclusión y la equidad en nuestras comunidades. El racismo, el sexismo, el clasismo, el heterosexismo, la discriminación por edad, el capacitismo y otros tipos de opresión contribuyen a la existencia de mayores índices de agresión, acoso y abuso sexual. Debemos abordar todo tipo de abuso de poder para prevenir la violencia sexual: en nuestras relaciones, comunidades y sociedad.

El Fondo de Alivios para Víctimas de Violencia Sexual ayuda directamente a sobrevivientes y personal en centros para víctimas de violencia sexual que han sido devastados por desastres naturales. Tus donaciones ayudan al personal de estos sitios a cubrir costos de evacuación, recompra de equipos dañados, y asegura que estos servicios tan importantes permanezcan disponibles para toda la comunidad.
