This change form is for organizations that are listed in the Directory of Sexual Assault Centers in the United States. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) regularly updates the information in the directory. Making such changes is an ongoing process and will result in new editions periodically. Although we cannot guarantee that all programs in the US are included, every effort has been made, and will continue to be made, to maintain a current and comprehensive directory. This listing includes both stand alone sexual assault programs and dual issue sexual assault and domestic violence programs. The Centers that are included should at minimum provide the following services:
-24 hour crisis intervention hotlines staffed by trained individuals
-personal advocacy and information regarding options
-accompaniment, and advocacy support for survivors during forensic and medical exams, law enforcement interviews and through the criminal justice process
-legal, medical and psychological service referrals
-support services to families and others significant to the survivor
-sexual violence prevention programming
-public policy advocacy
-training for allied professionals.
