First Annual National Conference on the Primary Prevention of Men’s Violence Against Women
Men Can Stop Rape, Inc.’s (MCSR) First National Conference on the Primary Prevention of Men’s Violence Against Women, “Men and Women as Allies,” will be held April 14‐15, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
As the leading non‐profit organization dedicated to mobilizing male youth to prevent violence against women, Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) has served the international community for over a decade with its Men of Strength (MOST) Club youth programming, Strength Mediaworks public education materials, and Strength Trainings for professionals.
Who Should Attend:
All rape crisis and domestic violence center personnel, educators, youth‐serving professionals, health care professionals, mental and behavioral health providers, social workers, health professional students, health policy leaders, activists, advocates for victims of domestic violence and others.
Co‐sponsored by 35 international SA/DV coalitions, youth‐serving organizations, and service providers, “Men and Women as Allies” hopes to strengthen the field of primary violence prevention by highlighting successful partnerships between direct service providers and those who work in primary violence prevention.
The conference will include fourteen workshops, keynote addresses from national and international leaders, federal agency briefings, and a “Welcome to Washington” evening reception.
