The Health Care Response to Sexual and Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence
As part of Illinois Health Cares 6th Annual Training of Trainers, Elaine Alpert will present a training targeting health care providers as well as anyone interested in improving the health care response to domestic/intimate partner or sexual violence. Dr. Alpert is a professor of Public Health and Medicine in the Boston University School of Public Health and the School of Medicine. She has been active for several years in the health professions and community initiatives related to the prevention of abuse and violence. Dr. Alpert founded and is the faculty advisor for the Boston University Family Violence Advocacy Project and serves on the Massachusetts Governors Commission on Domestic Violence. She is an accomplished trainer, has authored numerous articles and book chapters with curricula development and patient care related to violence prevention, teaches an entire semester course on sexual violence as a public health issue and serves on numerous state and national advisory panels concerned with the role of health professions in responding to and preventing violence and abuse.
