We have an outstanding line-up of keynote speakers and workshops: Anna Salter, Ph D—What Works: Reducing Sexual Offending Dr. Salter will address how different sex offender management and treatment methods succeed or fail in reducing recidivism. She will examine the impact of more severe sanctions, incarceration vs. probation, longer sentencing and intensive supervision in lowering the number of sexual crimes. Michelle Garcia, MPP—Stalking and Sexual Violence Ms. Garcia will present on the connection between stalking and sexual assault, exploring both pre-and post-assault stalking. She will discuss ways in which this information impacts our responses to victims and how recognizing the intersection of stalking and sexual assault can contribute to greater offender accountability and decreased victim blaming. Workshop highlights include: * Sexual Assault Services for the Deaf Community * Fatherhood and Family Violence: Listening to Immigrant Fathers in South Florida * Poverty, Housing & Sexual Violence * Domestic Violence in the Haitian Community In addition attendees can attend free Wellness Day sessions on June 17th.
