The program will feature a screening of the Emmy-nominated Oprah Winfrey Show segment , "Two Hundred Adult Men Who Were Molested Come Forward", a facilitated panel discussion, and an opportunity to learn about local resources and support groups with a goal of providing male survivors with a safe and comfortable environment to join others in lifting the veil of secrecy and shame from their experience. MaleSurvivor, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to overcoming sexual victimization of boys and men through its membership program and weekend workshops has recently announced the launch of Dare to Dream. This program was developed in response to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” highlighting male sexual abuse and will focus on bringing a message of hope and healing while offering support for abuse survivors in several local markets, with its fourth installment in Smyrna, Georgia. Andy Dishman, LPC and Joanna Colrain, LPC, will facilitate the local MaleSurvivor Dare to Dream program. No cover or registration required. More information is avaliable online.
